No Man's Land by David Baldacci

Enjoyable, hard to put down.

Bury the Lead by David Rosenfelt

As with all books in the Andy Carpenter series, very good.

Under Orders by Dick Francis

Excellent, Sid Halley is in four Francis books and they're all strong.

The Wrong Side of Goodbye by Michael Connelly

As always the Bosch character is interesting, a very enjoyable read.

To the Hilt by Dick Francis

Excellent, with a particularly good ending.

Sunday, October 16, 2016

Order to Kill by Vince Flynn, Kyle Mills

Kyle Mills does a very good job of doing Flynn almost as well as Flynn.

I is for Innocent by Sue Grafton

This was abridged and still didn't have much meat, but it was a mildly entertaining book.

Monday, September 26, 2016

First Strike by Ben Coes

Too long. Too bad because this could have been excellent. Dewey Andreas is a formula that works but Coe's detailed information on maters not related towards driving the plot or even relevant characters slowed this book to a crawl.

An Obvious Fact by Craig Johnson

This series is consistently excellent, and An Obvious Fact is another example of that excellence.

Friday, September 16, 2016

Rebel Island by Rick Riordan

This appears to be the final book in the series and was the weakest but still an enjoyable listen.

Razor Girl by Carl Hiaasen

What a treat! Hiaasen is back and as good as ever.

Tom Clancy Support and Defend by Mark Greaney

A Campus Novel. Fun but slow.

Outfoxed by David Rosenfelt

Rosenfelt is a hit machine, another fun (very) light read.

The Marriage of Mary Russell by Laurie R. King

Short story describing the marriage of Mary and Sherlock, very enjoyable.

The Heist by Janet Evanovich, Lee Goldberg

Light fun, enjoyed it. PW FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare is known for her fierce dedication and discipline on the job, chasing down the world’s most wanted criminals and putting them behind bars. Her boss thinks she is tenacious and ambitious; her friends think she is tough, stubborn, and maybe even a bit obsessed. And while Kate has made quite a name for herself for the past five years the only name she’s cared about is Nicolas Fox - an international crook she wants in more ways than one.

House Revenge by Mike Lawson

Lawson has really hit his stride with this light fun thriller. The characters, old and new, are interesting and likable. Joe Barrett's narration brings them to life. At just over 7 hours this novel keeps a nice pace without a lot of fluff. Kudos to Lawson for not forcing the novel into an 11 to 14 hour format like so many other contemporaries are doing. Real good entertainment.

The President's Shadow by Brad Meltzer

Too much filler in the 3rd installment of the Culper Ring Series.

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Absolute Power by David Baldacci

Baldacci's first book is quite good.

Friday, July 22, 2016

The Black Widow by Daniel Silva

Another solid installment in the Gabriel Allon series. The 16th installment manages to stay interesting and incorporates lots of characters from previous episodes.

Blackout by David Rosenfelt

OK. Hard not to compare to Rosenfelts' Andy Carpenter series but even so this was passable entertainment.

Friday, June 03, 2016

Betrayal by Tim Tinger

Entertaining. I'll try yet another by Tigner.

Up Country by Nelson DeMille

Too long with really dark and depressing remembrances of Vietnam.

Blood Flag by Steve Martini

Another in the Paul Madriani series, enjoyable.

The Highwayman by Craig Johnson

Johnson's Longmire and friends are very likable and fun to spend time with.

The Murder of Mary Russell by Laurie R. King

You really could have removed the first half of this book, it's all fluff. Typical King beautiful writing slow plot.

The Last Mile by David Baldacci

Enjoyable.

Extreme Prey by John Sandford

Yet another entertaining Davenport thriller.

Keep Moving by Dick Van Dyke

Light and fun.

The Einstein Prophecy by Robert Masello

This was good fun, interesting to have Einstein as one of the characters.

Flash by Tim Tigner

Entertaining. I'll try another by Tigner.

Echo Six: Black Ops by Eric Meyer

Terrible. Worst SEAL book I've encountered.

The Blessing Way by Tony Hillerman

Enjoyable, I'll try another in the series.

Bitter Creek by Peter Bowen

Outstanding!

The God's Eye by Barry Eisler

Worst Eisler book by a long shot. Silly bore.

Wednesday, March 09, 2016

Nancy by Michael K. Deaver

Light, not too political portrayal of Nancy Regan at her best.

The Night Ranger by Alex Berenson

Pointless backstory after backstory in the seventh John Wells Novel is once again saved by George Guidable.

The Shadow Patrol by Alex Berenson

Too long but good.

The Midnight House by Alex Berenson

George Guidable turns a fluff book into pleasure.

Cop Job by Chris Knopf

Enjoyable book, like the characters.

Sunday, January 31, 2016

Twelve Days by Alex Berenson

John Wells, book 9 is long full of fluff and still enjoyable.

Friday, January 22, 2016

Tom Clancy Commander-in-Chief by Mark Greaney

A Jack Ryan Novel. Way too long, too bad could have been very enjoyable but instead it's a bore.

Mission Road by Rick Riordan

Tres Navarre mystery book 5 was very enjoyable.

A Man of Some Repute by Elizabeth Edmondson

Slow and a little boring.

Nails by Peter Bowen

Gabriel Du Pré book 13 is excellent.

Forty Thieves by Thomas Perry

Enjoyable.

Kingpin by Kevin Poulsen

The "How One Hacker Took Over the Billion-Dollar Cybercrime Underground" story didn't hold my interest.

Sphere by Michael Crichton

Interesting premise that dragged.

The Quiet Game by Greg Iles

Enjoyable, glad it was the abridged version.
